Why Choose Esbilac®?

  • Mother’s-milk inspired: Balanced protein, fat, and carbohydrate profile to support steady growth.
  • Brain & vision support: Includes key fatty acids (e.g., DHA sources) important for early development.
  • Trusted by pros: Widely used by breeders, shelters, and veterinary teams.
  • Flexible use: For orphaned pups, supplemental feeding in large litters, or as a weaning transition.

Good to know: Esbilac can also be used as a post-surgery or convalescent nutritional boost for puppies under veterinary guidance.

How to Mix

Standard mix: Combine 1 part powder with 2 parts warm water. Stir or shake until fully dissolved and smooth. Prepare small batches as needed.

  • Serve warm (body temperature). Do not microwave mixed formula; instead warm the bottle in a warm water bath.
  • Refrigerate unused mixed formula and use within 24 hours. Keep the powder container tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place.

Feeding Frequency & Amount (Guideline)

Newborn puppies typically need small, frequent feedings. The amounts below are general guidelines only — always monitor body condition and consult your veterinarian for specific needs.

Puppy Weight Approx. Age Per-Feeding Volume* Feedings / 24 hrs
4–8 oz (115–230 g) 0–1 week 5–10 mL 6–8x
9–16 oz (255–455 g) 1–2 weeks 10–20 mL 6–8x
17–32 oz (480–910 g) 2–3 weeks 15–30 mL 5–6x
33–64 oz (0.94–1.8 kg) 3–4 weeks 25–50 mL 4–5x
> 64 oz (>1.8 kg) 4–6 weeks 40–60+ mL 3–4x

*Adjust volume to puppy size and appetite. Stomach capacity is small — multiple small feedings are safer than large ones.

Weaning tip (3–6 weeks): Begin offering a shallow dish of mixed formula; gradually blend with high-quality puppy food to create a gruel. Increase food and decrease formula over several days as pups accept solids.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: From what age can I use Esbilac?
A: From birth up to about 6 weeks, or as directed by your veterinarian for supplemental feeding and weaning support.

Q: What’s the correct mixing ratio?
A: Mix 1 part powder with 2 parts warm water and blend until smooth.

Q: Can I microwave the formula?
A: No. Microwaving can create hot spots. Warm the prepared bottle in a warm water bath and test on your wrist before feeding.

Q: How long can mixed formula be stored?
A: Refrigerate and use within 24 hours. Discard any leftover in the bottle after each feeding for hygiene.

Q: Bottle, syringe, or tube?
A: Bottle feeding is most common. Syringe feeding can help with very weak pups; tube feeding should be done only with training or veterinary guidance.

Q: My puppy has loose stool — what should I do?
A: First, ensure you’re mixing correctly and not over-feeding. Keep pups warm and dry. If diarrhea persists, contact your veterinarian promptly.

Q: When should I begin weaning?
A: Many pups start exploring gruel around 3–4 weeks. Increase solids gradually while reducing formula.
