Shipping Terms

Listed below are our handling charges for pre-paid orders shipped within the 48 continental United States. These orders do NOT pay any STANDARD GROUND SHIPPING when shipped within the 48 contiguous US states.

Merchandise Order Total = Handling Charge

$00.01 to $69.99 = $8.95 for Standard Shipping

$70.00 and OVER = Free Standard Shipping

Orders placed before 2:30 PM CST Monday through Friday will usually ship the same day. (No weekend package pick up.)

OVERNIGHT and 2-DAY SERVICE is available for an additional charge. Please email or call for a quote. Pricing will be based on the actual size and weight of the package not the total dollar amount of the order.

Small orders will usually ship US First Class Mail or US Priority Mail. Others will ship via FedEx (standard ground) or UPS (standard ground).
Please provide a complete street address and Business name when applicable. FEDEX and UPS will not deliver to P.O. boxes. Due to the new FedEx/UPS delivery policy, a rural address will take a few extra days for delivery.

Ship To Address Requirements

We are no longer able to accept orders with an alternate ship-to-address for orders placed online. The billing address entered at check-out must match the billing address tied to your credit card payment method to get an approved transaction. If you are an established UPCO customer with trackable purchase history, please call us to confirm your shipping details. All first time customer orders will need to be shipped to the billing address at least on the initial order. For any other orders requiring a ship to address different from the billing address, please contact us by phone to discuss possible verification requirements for processing at (816) 233-8800.

Vaccine Orders

Vaccine orders placed during the “HOT” summer months are recommended to ship via Next Day Air or 2nd Day Air. We have discounted express shipping rates for vaccine orders available at checkout. Any vaccine order placed toward the end of the week with standard shipping selected may be held until the beginning of the week to ensure vaccine viability based on transit times. Vaccine orders are shipped with frozen icepacks in insulated envelopes or thermal-last bags to extend the life of the ice pack then packaged. We also offer insulated foam coolers and additional ice packs available for purchase along with any temperature sensitive items. We strongly recommend the purchase of the insulated cooler to assure vaccines arrive cold. 

All vaccines are non-returnable and non-refundable. *If you purchase vaccines with standard shipping you assume responsibility of the temperature condition they arrive in.

Expedited Shipping Required

  • (May – September)
  • Due to rising temperatures during the warmer months of the year, expedited shipping will be required for all perishable products purchased and shipped from UPCO. Requiring air shipping service helps ensure product stability upon receipt and minimizes duration of heat exposure.

Important Shipping Note:

UPCO ships cold items as soon as possible, but ONLY ships temperature sensitive items Monday-Thursday when delivery dates for your selected location fall during the same week it is shipped even if expedited service is selected. EX: If you choose overnight delivery for an order placed on Friday, it will ship on Monday for Tuesday delivery. This avoids weekend transit where items will sit in unknown temperature conditions until the following week. If you need a cooler item expedited and delivered by a specific date, please contact our customer service department at 816-233-8800 for further assistance.

Dog & Cat Food Sales Online

Dog & Cat Food is available for purchase on our website for LOCAL pick up and LOCAL delivery customers (within 15 miles of St. Joseph, MO) only at this time. If you are located outside of our local area and still would like us to “ship” pet food to you it will be at an additional freight charge based on the weight of the package and the “Free shipping over $70” will not apply to the pet food portion of the order.

Local Delivery Orders

“LOCAL” is classified as someone within 15 miles of UPCO (3705 Pear Street Saint Joseph, MO 64503) Any order containing items from the LOCAL category or with the text ** Order Online for Local Delivery or Curb-side Pick-up ONLY ** will only be delivered if you are within the 15 mile radius. If you are outside of 15 miles from UPCO and ordering any of the “LOCAL” items you will have additional handling added to your order based on the weight of the items ordered.
